European Roulette Wheel, Table and Layout

European Roulette Wheel and Table

In comparison to the table layout of the French roulette, the table of the European is not as wide as the French layout where the side bets are positioned to the left of the inside betting area while the column bets remain at the bottom of the grid.

European Roulette Layout

The European Roulette and its current layout were devised in 1843 by Frenchmen François and Louis Blanc. The game was initially introduced in a German spa casino town of Homburg. Wanting to compete against other casinos that were offering single and double zero roulette, François and Louis Blanc presented the roulette game with a single zero.

The grid imprinted on the felt of the European Roulette table is just about the same as the American roulette with the only difference that the European Roulette has only one zero.
